On March 28, 2019, QA Consultants had the distinct pleasure of officially announcing the grand opening of the QA Consultants Software Test Bay. The union formalizes the partnership with Ontario Tech University‘s Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) and QA Consultants.
The lab will be dedicated to the following types of testing services:
- Vehicle operating systems, connectivity and interfaces with ECU, ADAS, instrumentation and infotainment clusters
- Mobility Device Compatibility Testing
- Model-Based Testing
- Reusable lab for third-party validation of new infotainment options, and interoperability testing
- Cybersecurity
- Lidar and Visualization
- Safety Critical Systems
Automotive testing
QA Consultants has made significant investments in the automotive industry regarding a variety of software testing services and activities around autonomous vehicles, connected vehicles, and software testing platforms. Together, with the lab space at ACE, QAC will be able to conduct software testing services in combination with radio signal measure, interference validation, vehicle-to-vehicle, and vehicle to system interoperability testing, physical wearable interaction, device testing, and of course vehicle software testing.
This partnership provides a comprehensive testing environment for both physical and software system testing of vehicles. Further to this initiative, QA Consultants is leading a two-year program to build a comprehensive software system testing environments for connected and autonomous vehicles. Efforts will be focused on testing applications built to interoperate with the Blackberry QNX operating system or to interoperate with the Automotive Grade Linus (AGL) environments representing 80% of vehicle operating systems globally. Software testing will be conducted on the infotainment clusters driven by Apple car play, Google Android auto, proprietary systems, and software compliance with ISO 26262 that has multiple ASIL requirements
